Change Details
Page Breaks for Custom Dashboard PDFs
- Custom Dashboard PDF exports now automatically use page breaks to distribute dashboard components across multiple pages. Previously, all components were rendered on a single continuous PDF page, regardless of the size or volume of the dashboard.
Improved PDF Readability
- Large dashboards previously had to be significantly scaled down to fit all components onto a single page. This could make numbers, tables, and graphs difficult to read and appear blurred when users zoomed into the PDF. With page breaks, components can now be rendered at a more appropriate size across multiple pages.
Reduced Content Truncation
- Custom Dashboards containing a high number of components or large volumes of data could previously become excessively long, resulting in content being compressed or truncated. Splitting the dashboard into logical PDF pages significantly reduces this issue.
Better Report Presentation
- Each PDF page now contains a more manageable number of dashboard components, making scheduled and downloaded reports easier to navigate, review, print, and share. The new format can be seen in the updated six-page dashboard, where components are distributed across individual pages rather than being compressed into one continuous page.
Assumptions & Limitations
  • Page breaks are currently supported only for Custom Dashboard PDF exports.
  • Other standard Trakn pages will continue to use the existing PDF generation behaviour for this release.
  • Page breaks for all other Trakn pages are planned for the next release, extending the same readability improvements across the platform.
  • The number of pages generated will depend on the number, type, and size of components included in the Custom Dashboard.
  • As dashboards with more components will now be distributed across multiple pages, the total number of PDF pages may increase; however, individual components and their data will remain significantly easier to read.
